Golden Solutions Insurance LLC is an independent insurance agency based in Shelby, North Carolina. We are licensed to sell insurance products in multiple states and act as an intermediary between our clients and insurance carriers. We are not an insurance carrier or health plan — we are a licensed agent and broker.

2. Information We Collect

In order to help you find and apply for insurance coverage, we collect personal information that is necessary to evaluate your coverage options and submit applications on your behalf. This may include:

Personal & Contact Information

Full name, date of birth, Social Security number, address, phone number, and email address.

Health & Medical Information

Current health conditions, prescription medications, doctors and healthcare providers, and existing coverage information. This information is classified as Protected Health Information (PHI) under HIPAA and is handled accordingly.

Financial Information

Income information and other financial data required for certain insurance applications. This is classified as Nonpublic Personal Information (NPI) under the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA).

Insurance & Coverage Information

Current insurance policies, plan types, carrier names, policy numbers, and enrollment periods.

Website & Communication Information

Information submitted through our contact form, intake forms, or via email, phone, or text message. This may include your phone number if you opt in to receive text messages from us.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your personal information only for the following purposes:

The only circumstance in which we share your personal information is when it is necessary to obtain insurance coverage for you. Specifically:

Insurance Carriers

When you ask us to find or apply for coverage on your behalf, we share only the minimum information required by that specific carrier to process your application or enrollment. We do not share more than is necessary.

Legal or Regulatory Requirements

We may disclose information when required to do so by law, court order, or regulatory authority, including state insurance regulators.

With Your Explicit Consent

We may share information with other parties only if you give us your explicit written or verbal consent to do so.

5. GLBA Notice — Your Financial Privacy Rights

As an insurance agency, we are subject to the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA), which requires us to tell you how we collect, share, and protect your nonpublic personal financial information (NPI).

What we collect: We collect NPI such as your name, address, Social Security number, income information, and insurance application data — only as necessary to provide insurance services to you.

What we share: We do not share your NPI with nonaffiliated third parties except as permitted by law — specifically, to process your insurance application with a carrier you have asked us to contact on your behalf.

Your opt-out right: Because we do not share your NPI with nonaffiliated third parties for marketing or other non-service purposes, there is no opt-out required under GLBA. You will not receive an opt-out form from us because we do not engage in the types of sharing that would trigger that requirement.

How we protect it: We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect your NPI in compliance with GLBA’s Safeguards Rule.

6. HIPAA — Health Information Privacy

When we assist you with health insurance, Medicare-related coverage, or other products that involve health information, we may receive and handle Protected Health Information (PHI) as defined under HIPAA.

As a Business Associate of the health plans we work with, we are required to:

  • Use and disclose PHI only as permitted by our Business Associate Agreement with each health plan
  • Use only the minimum necessary PHI to accomplish the intended purpose
  • Maintain appropriate safeguards to protect the security of PHI
  • Notify affected individuals in the event of a breach of unsecured PHI

We do not use your health information for any purpose other than helping you obtain insurance coverage.

7. Text Message Communications (TCPA)

If you have provided your phone number and checked the SMS consent box on our contact or intake form, you have agreed to receive text messages from Golden Solutions Insurance. Specifically:

  • We will only text you with appointment reminders, follow-up communications, or information related to your insurance needs
  • We will never send unsolicited marketing texts
  • Message frequency may vary
  • Message and data rates may apply
  • You may opt out at any time by replying STOP to any text message
  • Opt-out requests will be honored within 10 business days
  • Consent to receive text messages is never required to receive our services

We maintain a record of your consent including the date, source, and phone number provided. These records are retained for a minimum of 4 years in compliance with TCPA requirements.

8. How We Protect Your Information

We implement reasonable physical, electronic, and administrative safeguards to protect your personal information, including:

  • Secure, password-protected systems for storing client records
  • Role-based access controls limiting who can view sensitive information
  • SSL encryption on this website
  • Staff training on privacy and data handling practices
  • Limiting access to your information to only those agents and staff who need it to serve you
